Before reaching the market, a dental implant must pass a battery of <strong>mechanical, biological and regulatory tests<\/strong> that demonstrate its safety, performance and durability in accordance with <strong>Regulation (EU) 2017\/745 (MDR).<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>For manufacturers, R&amp;D and quality managers, understanding these tests at an early stage is key to avoiding delays in certification and optimizing the CE marking process.<\/p>\n\n<p>In this article we detail the main tests that a dental implant must pass before being marketed in Europe.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1\ufe0f\u20e3 Structural mechanical tests<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fatigue test (ISO 14801)<\/h3>\n\n<p>It is the most representative mechanical test in dental implantology. It evaluates the behavior of the implant under: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>oblique cyclic loads,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>conditions of simulated bone loss,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>million cycles representative of clinical use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>It allows determining fatigue resistance and establishing safety margins against structural failure.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Static strength tests<\/h3>\n\n<p>Evaluate:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>maximum load before fracture,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>elastic limit of the material,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>behavior under extreme overload.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>They provide information on the structural robustness of the implant and its prosthetic connection.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Implant-abutment connection tests<\/h3>\n\n<p>The implant-abutment interface is a critical point.
